Success Means Learning From Your Parents Mistakes

As I look back I now understand how many hardships I did not have to face if I had taken my parents advice; now I will help my children break this cycle and capitalize on all this valuable insight.

Perhaps your parents had limitations which you do not have. Perhaps they made mistakes in their lives. Whatever your parents' younger years consisted of, it is likely that they want better for you.

If your parents made mistakes when they were younger, they have probably learned a number of valuable lessons from those mistakes. They learned that mistakes do come with consequences. Some of those consequences can take many years to overcome, and some cannot be overcome at all. They also learned that avoiding situations is much better than dealing with the consequences and the resulting hardships.

You can learn from your parents' mistakes regardless of your age. They have had years of experience in learning what works and what does not. They have learned which choices lead to hardships, and which ones lead to success. Whether they learned this from making errors, or from limitations which they had in their lives, your parents want a better, brighter, and more successful life for you.

When your parents guide you, they are trying to help you to avoid making the mistakes that they made. They are helping you to avoid unnecessary hardships, and take the course-of-action which will result in success. When you leave yourself open to their guidance, you will have a better chance and more opportunities than your parents had in their own lives.

You must always keep in mind that your parents always want what is best for you even if their guidance tends to come off a bit harsh, abrasive, or very matter of fact at times. Just try to keep your emotions in check and remember to see their true hearts intent. They are honestly and truly just looking out for your best interest through tough love.

Instead of putting time and energy into overcoming mistakes, you can set your sights on your goals and focus on attaining them. You will see that you have more potential than you had realized. This is a wonderful gift which your parents want to give you, by guiding you in the right direction. All you need to do is accept it, in the spirit in which they are offering it to you.

Choosing to follow your parents' guidance will break the cycle. You, and the children that you may have someday, will not have to endure the same hardships which your parents experienced. When you listen and adhere to their guidance, you will be more equipped for success. Not only will this make your own future much brighter, but you will also be setting a good example for your children and future generations.

Wealth Secret - Stop Pointing Fingers and Start Taking Responsibility

As I mentioned a couple weeks back, the road to wealth is often paved with potholes, roadblocks, stinky piles of gunk and confusing forks in the road. And guess what? Most of those potholes and roadblocks are external reflections of your own internal gunk.

One of the major differences between those who experience consistent growth both personally and financially and those who are stuck is the concept of taking personal responsibility.

Let's look at some common ways this may present in your life:

1. You feel as if you are under appreciated by people around you.
2. You are angry that the coaching program you joined is not providing the results you believed you would receive.
3. Things seem to keep happening to you, such as speeding tickets, car accidents, or the loss of prized possessions.
4. Your phone is not ringing as much as it should.
5. You repeatedly get into fights or little disagreements with friends or family.

You could look at any one of the situations I listed and come up with a reason that these things are happening that have nothing to do with you.

For example, you could say that you are under appreciated by people around you because your friends, kids and family are naturally ungrateful. Or you could say that the coaching program you joined isn't working because your coach isn't any good. Or that the car accident was because of the idiot who didn't look where he was going. Or that your phone isn't ringing because of the economy. Or that the fights and disagreements you are getting into are their fault.

It sure is easy to find external reasons for everything happening in your life, isn't it? But it's only seems easier. It's really not because there is never any resolution. These things will continue to happen until you learn the greater lessons they carry with them.

Begin looking for the real reason these things are showing up for you. Every situation has a personal lesson for you. It could be that the lesson is forgiveness. It could be compassion. It could be tenderness. It could be that the lesson is to stop blaming and start taking personal responsibility.

If you feel under-appreciated, it could be because you are not giving yourself enough appreciation and your lesson is to learn how to love yourself more. If the coaching program isn't working, it could be because you need to learn how to work it. Perhaps the car accident could have been avoided if you had gotten more sleep and your reflexes were sharper. Maybe the economic shift is happening so you can learn a new way to market your business. And it could be that the fights and disagreements with your family members are there to show you what you do and don't want in your life.

Taking personal responsibility may feel difficult at first, but truthfully it'll make our life a whole lot easier because it will ultimately allow you to build the supportive community that you need to take your life to a higher level.

So, how do you start?

Begin to notice any time in the next week that you are feeling unhappy about something and looking to someone else other than yourself for the resolution. At first, simply notice it and become aware. Don't beat yourself up about it, simply notice.

Then, once you've been noticing for a while, you can begin asking yourself - what does this have to teach me? Or what's here for me? Or what is trying to emerge from this situation?

Write down the answers that come and begin to look for patterns and old habits that are ready to be shed as you step into a new, whole version of yourself that knows that everything happening around outside of you is simply a reflection of everything going on inside and all of it has a vitally important lesson for you.

Two Key Business Principles For Success

The first key principle in business success is knowing who you are dealing with, and who you are, a smart person or a foolish person. The difference between a smart person and a foolish person is that when a foolish person is foolish, he thinks he is smart, when a smart person is foolish, he knows he is foolish.

The next difference is that a foolish person thinking he is smart, has no chance of becoming smart, whereas a smart person knowing he is foolish, can become smarter.

By seeing the foolishness, he has a chance of correcting himself so he ceases to be foolish, but that can happen only if a person acknowledges he is foolish and then works to become smart.

Otherwise if a person does not see and accept that he is foolish, he will remain foolish. This is the advantage of knowing you are foolish. The next step is to know what is foolish and what really matters. What matters is what will last or has a life of its own.

What really has a life of its own? That is what matters. Words and comments require a person to listen to them and interpret or create a meaning from them. Therefore words have no life of their own.

What happens in our world without words? Very little. What are words but empty air? Nothing at all. What gives words the power to enchant or anger? The mind of the listener.

Therefore, the fool takes words to mean what he thinks they mean, creating excuses for his failures, justifications for conflicts or self pity. The wise person allows for the passing of air to go without concern and moves forward without regret.

A smart person inquires and asks questions of their opponent and associates to learn what the other person knows so they can gauge how to deal with them.

A foolish person does not ask anything and assumes they know everything and are experts. They will tell you the 'right' way to do everything but make mistakes and never improve their knowledge. They rarely become smart, they just stay stupid, arrogant and unsuccessful.

If you do not know who you are dealing with, either with you as a potential partner or against you in any form of transaction, it is extremely difficult to guarantee success. Put in effort to not be foolish yourself.

One other way to determine if a person is smart or foolish without revealing your self is by asking questions and observing. Are they are asking questions or trying to show what they think they know and have done by speaking far too much.

Handle each person according to who they are, do not change anyone. And remember that if you are working with a foolish person, they have a good chance to bring you down with them in a business venture.

The analogy is to put in the effort to climb the tree and pick the apples, or think you are so smart that you cut down the tree to get them all. How creative is that!

The second key principle is to complete your communications. The best way to express this is an example of a recent email.

I have a client who visits me regularly. Due to his business, he cannot make set times for our meetings and has to tell me when he can come each week. I sent him an email to ask if he would like to come for a visit this week. He replied, "Yes that would be nice."

The problem is that I then had to reply to him to ask which day and time was suitable for him, and then he had to reply again. Every week he has to tell me what time and day he can come over, so this is a normal routine.

However his reply was incomplete turning one email into two and more than twice the time required. Not only is this a waste of time, but in business, it gets very frustrating as it often takes four or six or more emails or texts for people to say what should and could have been said in the first reply.

Make sure that all your correspondences are complete and include all details so that there is no need to go back and forth several times. This shows your intelligence and attention to details indicating a sharp mind which will impress people in times when those qualities seem to be diminishing very quickly.

Let's give this a monetary value. A text message costs 20 cents. If everyday you have an extra 4 texts to get the information you could have had in the first text, that is 80 cents a day which equates to $292.00 a year. Add to that the extra 10 minutes average waste of time at $50 per hour that your time may be worth is $3,042. A total of $3,334 per year just on texts!

Such is your wasting time by simply not doing it right the first time for a simple text message. If you add up all the other things that you waste time on in this way, you will partially answer the question of where your time and money goes. And not just yours, but the other person whose time you are wasting.

Candy Vending

Vending is often referred to as 'passive income' as the machines themselves take up the task of promoting the business of selling candies. The bulk candy vending machines sell the unsorted candies, picking them at random, and dispenses to the customer for prices typically ranging around 25 cents. Generally they don't need electricity, they are inexpensive and relatively portable.

Before the starting of the business, as a vendor, you need to analyze the pros and cons of doing the trade. The amount of investment, the location of the bulk candy vending machine, the type of equipment used and the selection of the product, all have a great voice in determining the return on the investment. Typically, the ROI and the profit margin on the bulk candy vending are high. Compared to the other machines, the bulk candy vending machines offer the opportunity to make changes to the pricing with the changes in the cost of operations and the demand in your neighborhood.

Location of the candy vending machine has a great role to play in the success of the business. The type of the vending machine and the money-inflow varies with location. While the flashier machine suits best in a shopping mall, most of the heavy-traffic locations go for single or double-head stands. A candy vending in a chic locality will require you to place an attractive machine like one with Plexiglas head on a wooden base. The single-head and double-head machines offer a large presentation area making it highly eye-catching.

The presence of a vending machine alone does not guarantee income. While selecting the location, factors like the traffic it generates and the cost you need to pay for the placement of the candy vending has to be analyzed to calculate the return it can fetch. With the changes in the demand and the trend, the vendor will have to bring about modifications to the machine and sometimes even re-locate to newer locations. According to Bryon Krug's 'Vending Business-in-a-Box', the ideal locations for vending are where the hours of business are long, the traffic is high, other vending machines is absent or has a great number of children, hungry people or people making long waits.

The selection of the equipment varies with the purpose it has to serve and the budget that has been set aside. If you are lucky you may find online companies that buy older machines, fix them up and sell at bargain prices. Similarly, watch out for advertisements posted on eBay or Craig's List for vendors who are quitting the business. The cost of the machine must be in balance with its income potential. Most of the single and double-head bulk candy vending is available for prices ranging from $50-$75.

Candy vending is a great source of secondary income that ensures 100% return to the cost of investment typically in a period of less than one year. The absence of employees, tax advantages, flexible timings, and absence of cost on advertising make it an interesting investment option. In short, the vending machine business is a great way to own a business where you are your own boss.

What to Do With Negative Reviews - Managing Your Online Reputation

One of the great things about the Internet is the level of freedom of speech that exists there. If we experience bad service from a product or service provider, we can tell other people, so they can weigh up the pros and cons before choosing to spend their money with the same vendor. This has really accelerated the way that word of mouth travels via the Internet, allowing your best customers to sell your products and services for you through their positive feedback and reviews.

However, the trouble is, that the freedom of the Internet that allows people to have their fair say have also allowed people to use the same processes to damage your reputation online. Whether their comments are negative, truthful reviews written by people that didn't get the customer experience that they should, or negative, fake reviews written by competitors, disgruntled employees or ex-business partners, it's important to know what's being said about you.

So what do you do with negative reviews? It's all about managing your online reputation and there is a lot that you can do.

Okay, so what happens when you Google your company name and a string of negative comments appears on the front page of Google? No doubt you'll start losing customers immediately and that could be incredibly costly for your business. Let's face it, Google is the greatest shopping directory ever invented and if you come up negatively on the front page, you just have no idea of the damage to your reputation because you can't count the number of potential customers that you lose from it.

The first step to take when you discover a negative review is to check its veracity or verify if the complaint is a genuine one. In lots of cases, it could easily be a lie published by a competitor or just someone out to cause trouble for your business.

The next step is to find out if there are more complaints like it elsewhere on the Internet. You do this by Googling 'your company name' plus words associated with negative reviews such as 'complaints', 'feedback', 'scam', 'problems', 'bad service'. I'm sure you get the point.

If you're absolutely certain that the reviews or comments are not genuine, then you can politely email the sites that are publishing those reviews and offer them your side of the story and ask if they would kindly remove it. The trouble is that not all review sites will let you challenge a review and some will just flat-out refuse to remove anything from their site, even if you have proof.

If they refuse to do anything or ignore your messages, then see if you can add a comment of your own to the site setting the story straight. This at least shows that you are aware of the problem and were willing to do something about it. If it's genuine, you have the chance to please a disgruntled customer, if it's fake, people will see that you made an effort to address the situation at least.

If it is indeed a genuine problem, use the opportunity to resolve the issue and post the resolution on that website. More often than not, if you successfully resolve the complaint, the complainant will remove the complaint from the site.

If neither of these simple approaches works, you may need to go deeper. You can post a message on your website that's optimised for the same searches that bring up the negative review comments. Let people know that there are issues and that you are working to resolve them. This works particularly well if the complaints are lies, but obviously highlighting problems is not a great sales tactic.

If the negative reviews only appear when your company name is searched for on Google, then you need to drive the reviews off the front page by ensuring that your name appears positively enough times on the front page to push them further down Google into the abyss. Using blogs, review sites, online profiles and other high profile websites are great for this.

Ensure that your own site features plenty of positive reviews so that you can point out how 'out of place' and 'wrong' the negative reviews are.

The best thing that you can do is to set up a level of monitoring regarding your company and its online reputation. You can do this for free by setting up Google alerts or use an application that will regularly check what's being said about you online. Remember, it's vital that as a business trading on the web that you are absolutely 100% sure of what's being said about you in the public forum of the Internet and take steps to respond accordingly to any negative reviews that you find there.

But if all else fails, it may be time to bring in an online reputation management specialist that can wipe the negative reviews off the net for you.

If you need help fighting negative reviews and managing your online reputation, then we may be able to help. Designing Traditional and Contemporary Cafe Decor

Cafes are convenient and versatile commercial spaces that allow for a number of options when planning furnishings and themes. From traditional style Parisian bistros to contemporary digital coffee bars the café is a welcoming place to relax and read or socialize with espresso drinks and pastries. No matter what theme you choose for your café you will need to provide matching commercial furniture including chairs, tables and bar stools to make it as comfortable and fitting as possible.

Traditional cafes are great places for people to enjoy a cup of coffee with a scone while reading or talking with friends. This atmosphere requires comfortable seating that will make patrons want to stay awhile. Even the most engaging conversation can be halted by uncomfortable chairs and bar stools so give guests a reason to relax by selecting smooth wood finishes or custom fabric upholstering for a wide variety of café chairs, bar stools, arm chairs and other commercial chair seating. Other great options for traditional café seating include aluminum frame chairs with wicker back and seat, wrought iron chairs for outdoor patio use and metal ladderback chairs.

Cafes often feature either round or square table tops in a variety of sizes to form end tables, side tables and sometimes a bar for customers to place their drinks. These sturdy table tops can be found in wide selection of wood materials, stains and finishes to match existing café décor. The more surface space you offer in a café the more purposes patrons will find for staying longer.

Many modern cafes are outfitted to allow for Internet access and other tech applications that make cafes personal workspaces. This adds another dimension to a café's offerings and will also require solid commercial furniture to accommodate laptop computers, MP3's and Blackberry's. You'll want sturdy laminate or melamine table tops to handle the rigors of living and working in the digital age. At the same time you still want a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere that is befitting for a café so match contemporary décor with polished chrome or custom powder coat finish table bases that will supply a sturdy and stylish table foundation.

When selecting chairs for a modern café keep sleek in mind and look for sturdy aluminum or polished chrome frames to fit an Internet café setting. You can find a wide variety of metal chairs in classic styles including ladderback, cross back and lattice back for casual yet chic décor. You can also find great matching bar stools in various heights to reach counter tops, bars and café tables.
